BIOGRAPHY

Ife was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and turned professional in 1970 . He has recorded and/or toured throughout Brazil performing with some of the very known artists such as Nana' Vasconcelos, Toninho Horta, Nara Leao, Sivuca, Fagner, Dominguinhos, Paulo Moura, Guinga, Toninho Ferragutti, Vagner Tiso to name but a few.

BRAZIL IN BLACK & WHITE - A TRIBUTE TO CHICO BUARQUE

São Paulo guitarist & singer IFE TOLENTINO presents a fitting tribute to Brazil's most revered contemporary artist, composer and poet, CHICO BUARQUE. This selection of songs covers both Chico's original material, itself some of the finest examples of Brazilian songwriting, juxtaposed with songs which may or may not have influenced his own creative output. The album features the beautiful guitar playing of one of Britain's finest musicians, JOHN PARRICELLI, as well as special guest WALMIR GIL on trumpet and flugel horn. The rhythm arrangements and production were carried out by CHRIS WELLS (bass and percussion).
